Head of Lectures Section

Main Duties

  • Arrange with lecturer to set up date, time and subject of lecture (on theme of Vietnamese culture, environment etc etc)
  • Submit information for the newsletter and calendar
  • Send reminder to all who sign up for the activity
  • Attend lecture or demonstration
  • Check attendees and collect money for activity
  • Submit monthly section report and financial report for activity
  • Attend monthly council meeting

Expected Output

Try for one activity each month if possible

Head of Buddhism Section

Main Duties

  • Contact teachers to set up date, time and subject of lecture or demonstration
  • Presently 3 lectures are held – ‘Morning Mindfulness Meditation,’ ‘Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation’ and ’Evening Mindfulness Meditation’
  • Submit information for the newsletter and calendar
  • Send reminder to all who sign up for the activity
  • Attend lecture or demonstration
  • Check attendees and collect money for activity
  • Submit monthly section report and financial report for activity
  • Attend monthly council meeting

Keeper of the FVH Calendar / Publisher of the Monthly Newsletter

Main Duties

  • On or about the 10th of each month, send out reminders to all section heads to turn in activity templates
  • Collect and compile all templates by the 15th of the month and forward to Lotus News.
  • Make sure all section heads input their activities into their respective calendars.
  • Edit each calendar entry, especially making sure the Google Map feature works correctly.
  • Toward the end of the month, collect all remaining templates and compile into newsletter.
  • Send newsletter for editing.
  • Make corrections/revisions to newsletter.
  • Send newsletter out for distribution.

Requirements

  • Native English writing ability.
  • Some knowledge of the Vietnamese language.
  • Good word processing skills
  • Ability to use the internet, e-mail systems, and to send attachments.

Expected Output

Collected templates for Lotus News, correct calendar entries, monthly newsletter

Walking Guide, Discover Hanoi City Walks, English

Main Duties

  • Organize and lead an already researched and routed walk with up to 12 people at a time.

Requirements

  • Fluent English speaking ability.
  • Ability to speak in public.
  • Ability to handle a group.
  • Ability to make your way through the streets of Hanoi.

Expected Output

1 to 2 walks per month.
